New! Essential Oil Diffuser Blends for Autumn

Essential Oil Diffuser Blends for Autumn on AromaWeb

As I write this here in Michigan, it feels more like the middle of Winter than the middle of Fall. On Veteran's Day, we had about 8" of snow despite many beautiful, colorful leaves still decorating our trees. Our snow-covered lawns are now being blanketed once again with leaves on top of the snow.

What I love about diffusing blends that I formulate for Autumn days is that they work wonderfully for those "limbo" Autumn days that can feel more like either Summer or Winter.

Recently, I formulated 5 new Autumn diffuser blends for AromaWeb. To keep things simple and more affordable, each blend intentionally uses only 3 essential oils and includes substitutions when possible. All the blends are well suited for Autumn, but if you're facing a particularly "summery" Autumn day, take a close look at blend #2. For more wintery, Christmas-feeling days, I especially love Blend #5. My blend names are a bit generic. But there's a good reason for that! Find out by reading the info provided with the diffuser blends.

Thank You Veterans

Veterans Day

Sending heartfelt gratitude, respect and admiration to all those that have served. Thank you so much for your selfless bravery and for helping to keep America safe.

Sadly, many veterans suffer from PTSD or other major challenges, often in silence or with minimal support. The use of essential oils certainly cannot eliminate PSTD, but some essential oils that are particularly calming have the potential to ease or reduce the extreme and intense anxiety that can occur.

I very much want to create a PTSD essential oil guide, but it's a project that I want to invest a lot of time into. In the meantime, AromaWeb's Guide to Aromatherapy for Emotional Well-Being provides an introduction and list of essential oils that are helpful for anxiety, stress, panic and other challenges.

Essential Oils Are Not Collectibles

Featured Article on AromaWeb: Essential Oils Are Not Collectibles

It's understandable that we instinctively lean towards use of collectible and collection terminology when referring to essential oils.

I do feel that regardless of our personal stance on the topic, that it's important that we all do give the concept of "collecting" essential oils some thought and consideration.

Even when we use the term "essential oil collection," it can be helpful to consider that essential oils aren't really collectibles. There are underlying drawbacks that can occur when thinking of essential oils as something to "collect." Whether owning 3 different essential oils or 50+ essential oils, our mindset regarding how we acquire, store and use essential oils can make a huge difference.

The article addresses the shelf life of essential oils (they do have a shelf life unlike most "collectibles"), the conservation of essential oil bearing plants, the competitive "collection" nature amongst some oily friends as well as a few other key considerations.

Please take a moment to read AromaWeb's Essential Oils Are Not Collectibles article to learn more.

Seasonal Essential Oils for Fall and Autumn

Aromatherapy for Women

Fall is almost here in the Northern Hemisphere. The crisp, cooler days makes it a perfect time to enjoy diffusing and blending with more warming essential oils like ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and clove.

For AromaWeb, I created a guide and list of warming and spicy essential oils that are commonly enjoyed for their enticing seasonal aromas at this time of year. Each essential oil in the guide is linked directly to its corresponding essential oil profile on AromaWeb for more details about the oil. The spicier oils do need to be more carefully used, so I've also included some recommended tips as a part of this seasonal article.

Labor Day Weekend and Rosemary Essential Oil

September Outdoor SceneWishing everyone a pleasant and safe Labor Day Holiday Weekend. Each year, Americans and Canadians celebrate Labor/Labour Day on the first Monday of September. Labor Day is a day intended to honor workers and offer a day of relaxation.

Though I'm glad that this coming Monday is Labor Day, this extended weekend will partially be a "working" weekend for me. Read below to learn how I use Rosemary Essential Oils to stay alert, focused and energized as I work.

With Labor Day typically falling right around the start of school, I don't remember ever being taught about the history or depth of meaning of the holiday. Do you? Visit one or all of the following sites for answers to your questions regarding the origins of Labor Day:

Rosemary Essential Oil for Concentration while Working or Studying:

Labor Day marks a time when students and teachers say goodbye to summer and rev up for school. Fall also earmarks a busier workload for quite a few professions.

Sprigs of RosemaryLook to Rosemary Essential Oil as the oil of choice when you need help in focusing, concentrating and recalling what you learn for extended periods.

I love diffusing Rosemary in my diffuser. (View AromaWeb's All About Diffusers article for information on different diffuser methods). Rosemary Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil and Spearmint Essential Oil are all energizing oils. Combine Rosemary and one or both of the mints in a diffuser as a powerful combination for staying alert and focused. If studying and working has you stressing, try combining Rosemary with calming Lavender Essential Oil. Experiment with uplifting and energizing Orange Essential Oil as well. Cypress Essential Oil is also an exceptional oil for helping to stay clear-thinking and focused. Be sure to follow all safety precautions for each essential oil that you use.

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend and the transition to Fall!

Sincerely,

Wendy
